Planned Giving to Chatham Hall
Beyond the Campaign. Into the Future.
Chatham Hall stands apart not only for its elegant architecture and elegiac setting but also for its tenacity in remaining an all-girls school. Chatham Hall stands apart in its belief that an honor code can work at the secondary school level. It stands apart in its active chapel program and commitment to service. And Chatham Hall stands apart in the leaders it brings to campus—leaders who inspire the next generation to make a difference in the world. This mission and Chatham Hall’s future can be secured by your estate plan and the plans of others. We invite you to consider including the School in your will or living trust or making the School a beneficiary of a life income plan or life insurance policy. Chatham Hall will celebrate the notification of each new “deferred gift,” will welcome you into its Esto Perpetua Society, and will count towards its campaign goal those planned gifts that are irrevocable.
Bequests and other forms of estate gifts touch the lives of Chatham Hall students every day. The following are just a few examples of alumnae and former faculty who are shaping Chatham Hall’s future:
- Each year since 2002, the Mary Covey Trust, established at the death of Mary Wilmer Covey ’41, has provided $35,000 for student scholarships.
- The Zachar-Holt Scholarship, established through a bequest by Stefanie Zachar ’52 in honor of her parents and former dean Virginia Holt, awards more than $60,000 in scholarships each year.
- The Jeffrey Ferguson ’41 Endowed Chapel Fund, a new bequest, will provide more than $5,000 annually for chapel programs and the upkeep of St. Mary’s Chapel.
- The Virginia L. Radley Endowment Fund, established by a bequest from a former faculty member, provides more than $20,000 a year for the School’s highest priorities.
- The Sarah C. Benson ’47 Endowed Music Fund provides more than $2,000 a year to strengthen Chatham Hall’s music program.
