Chatham Hall Facilities

Campaign Goal (2003-2010): $5,000,000

Beautiful Campus. Strong Community.

Van Voorhis Lecture Hall - Chatham Hall has needed a place where the entire school community, including parents and guests, can gather. Constructing and endowing a lecture hall to accommodate our outstanding Leaders-in-Residence Program, as well as guest artists, student recitals, choral performances, art exhibitions, formal dances, and special banquets, has been a top Campaign priority.

The School dedicated this lecture hall in spring 2009 to Jerry Van Voorhis, Rector of Chatham Hall from 1981 to 1997.

Dining Hall in Yardley - As a result of forty-five years of heavy use, our dining hall had lost its charm and comfort as a community gathering place, and our kitchen had become outdated. Chatham Hall needed remodeled spaces that affirmed the importance of dining to our community life, met the expectations of today’s students and families, and provided our kitchen staff with the working area their dedication deserves.

Through the generosity of campaign donors, Chatham Hall undertook a long-overdue renovation of the dining hall, kitchen, and serving areas. These new facilities opened to acclaim in the fall of 2008.

The Campaign has also addressed top priorities on the School’s capital needs list, including renovation of the Student Center and Fitness Room, improvements to faculty housing, office renovation, and costly infrastructure projects. One of the most important purchases made possible to date by the Campaign is a generator to “run the School” during times when electric power is lost.

The Campaign has three important capital goals:

Preserving Chatham Hall’s Campus
