Service and Activism

At Chatham Hall, we’re always mindful of what we can do to make life a little better for someone else, whether that person is a friend, a neighbor, or even a total stranger. All of our students are members of the Service League, which is a longstanding campus tradition. Through the Service League, our students lend a hand in the town of Chatham, working with Habitat for Humanity, the SPCA, local food banks and nursing homes, and many other organizations. If you have an even deeper desire to bring about positive change, you may want to consider the Social Entrepreneurs Program.

  • Students selected for Social Entrepreneurs
  • identify and research a particular need in the local area
  • develop a plan that addresses the issue in a novel way, one that’s complementary to any programs already in place
  • manage and allocate a budget in order to implement the chosen project

Unlike some schools, we don’t require participation in service activities. Instead, we rely on a true spirit of volunteerism – and the boundless compassion our students seem to possess!
