Residential Life

At this private boarding school, our community is more than 80 percent boarding students, and naturally life in the dormitory is a big part of Chatham Hall!  The dorm becomes a home away from home, where you do your work, sleep, play, and enjoy quiet time with your friends.  Boarding students at our private boarding school learn independence, time management, and skills for living with others successfully.  In the process, girls form support networks and lifelong friendships in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.

Our Houseparents are responsible for supervising the dormitories and are always available to help out.  They support girls who may be homesick or having trouble with a roommate, help to keep things safe and running smoothly, and make things feel like home.  Along with faculty members who serve as Dorm Affiliates, the Houseparents regularly plan fun events for the dorm such as parties, TV nights, puzzles, games, and much more!

Along with participating in weekend activities or dorm events, boarding and day students alike might be found relaxing in our student hangout, known as the Niche, or around the grounds. At our private boarding school, students also have ample opportunity to spend time with faculty members, as most of live right on campus, and others live just minutes away.  Additionally, students take part in a wide variety of events on campus during the week and the weekend, from speakers to performances to seminars designed to encourage healthy living and other life skills.
